Check out the latest issue (September) of Cleveland Magazine. There's a nice article by Jim Vickers about HT. It also mentions the upcoming MOCA event that will feature costumes, artwork, and fashion from HERO TOMORROW. The event takes place on October 28th and we're planning to show some excerpts from the film as well. More info about that in a few weeks - Save the date.

The Trailer is ONLINE...!

Monday, August 15, 2005

A huge shout-out is in order for my day job - Commercial Recording Studios Inc. If you haven’t checked out the website please do so. There’s a virtual tour online that takes you through the entire joint. Aside from extensive recording and mixing capabilities, CRS has thousands upon thousands of sound effects here; and one of the engineers (Dr. Daniel Bays) wrote a program that allows you to simply type an effect, and up it comes in various forms – instantly. CRS is known for commercial work, but it's fantastic place to post audio for film.

The second quadrant of Hero Tomorrow is on the lift as clean sound and sound effects are administered.

Focus Groups

I was kind of dreading the focus groups, but they were fun and extremely informative. We also showed HT to the principle cast members which was a blast. I’m not going to dwell on all the good stuff, instead several yellow flags were dropped with reference to our first ten minutes. We weren’t, at this point, including opening credits – instead we had a placeholder title card which indicated where the credits would go. That proved to be a mistake. We’ve discovered that as credits are actually added, timing is altered and the whole perception can shift.

Over the last ten days Milo Miller and I examined the first four scenes and the opening credits. We shuffled, intercut, and reexamined until it started working on levels we hadn’t anticipated. More focus groups to follow.

The trailer is going to be posted this month. You’ll find it right here.
